About ZOMSOL

A networking supplier that thinks about the whole network, not just the next box.

ZOMSOL is a communication and networking company in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. It supplies the components businesses build networks from, and gives straight technical advice on which of them a project needs.

Most network problems start at the buying stage. A PoE switch that can't power every camera plugged into it. An uplink that needs an SFP port the switch doesn't have. Cat5e cable run to access points that expect 2.5G. We help you catch those mismatches before the order is placed.

Five questions that decide the right switch

A practical checklist for turning a requirement into a hardware list. Answer these and most of the specification falls into place.

01

How many devices, and how fast?

Count the wired endpoints you have today and allow for growth. Gigabit is the normal baseline for business networks. Multi-gigabit ports (2.5G, 5G or 10G) matter for Wi-Fi 6 access points, servers and uplinks.

02

What needs Power over Ethernet?

IP cameras, access points and IP phones can take power from the switch. Check what each one needs: PoE (802.3af, up to 15.4 W per port), PoE+ (802.3at, up to 30 W) or PoE++ (802.3bt). Then confirm the switch's total PoE budget covers everything running at once.

03

Managed, smart or unmanaged?

Unmanaged switches are plug-and-play. Smart, web-managed models add VLANs and basic traffic priority. Fully managed switches add CLI access, SNMP monitoring and finer security control, which is worth having when cameras, guests and staff need separate networks.

04

How does it connect upstream?

Look at the uplink ports: copper Gigabit, SFP for fibre, or SFP+ for 10G. Copper Ethernet tops out at 100 metres per run, so links between floors or buildings usually need fibre.

05

Is the cabling ready for it?

Cat6 carries Gigabit to 100 m and 10G over shorter runs (up to about 55 m). Cat6A carries 10G over the full 100 m. Plan rack space, patch panels and cable management alongside the switch, not after it arrives.

Working with us

From a requirement to delivered hardware

Whether you have a list of model numbers or just a rough idea, an enquiry usually moves through the same few stages.

  1. 01

    Share the requirement

The site, number of users and devices, existing equipment, budget and timeline.

  2. 02

    Clarify the details

Ports, PoE, speeds, cable runs, and anything that has to work with what is already installed.

  3. 03

    Recommend & quote

A product list with suitable models, and alternatives where another brand or tier makes sense.

  4. 04

    Supply

Order confirmation and supply of the agreed equipment.

  5. 05

    Follow up

Questions after delivery, extra items, or planning the next phase of the network.

A suggested way to structure an enquiry. If you already have model numbers, skip straight to step three.
